This is another example of why maxing our allocations from a brewery that is over 2,000 miles away from you is a bad idea. Fortunately, I only ordered a single bottle this time around. This was a disappointing beer and luckily split 3 ways with some friends who each agreed on it being subpar. We had Oude Tart w/ Cherries on the same evening and it was mind blowing. I was happy to find out it was still available for sale on Bruery’s site and I promptly ordered 3 more bottles.
AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
S – Very tart with Apricot juiciness. Minor level of booziness but nothing crazy.
T – Taste is interesting. It reminds me a lot like Sweet Tart candies. sweetness, tart, with oak and vanilla and some coconut. very fruity but overall a flat boring end.
M – Slightly creamy but overall a standard mouthfeel. Not mind blowing
O – This was pretty good. It needed more old ale sweet / booziness or more apricot fruit. Not too impressive but not a huge financial commitment luckily.
